چکیده

Diffusion-limited reaction A+A→inert with anisotropic hopping on the d = 1 lattice, is solved exactly for a simultaneous updating, discrete time-step dynamics. Diffusion-dominated processes slow down as the anisotropy increases. For large times or large anisotropy, one can invoke the appropriate continuum limits. In these limits the effects of the anisotropy on variation of particle density can be absorbed in time rescal-ing. However, in other regimes, when the discreteness of the time steps is nonnegligible, the anisotropy effects are nontrivial, although they are always quite small numerically. – 1 –

Dynamics of conformal maps for a class of non-Laplacian growth phenomena.

Time-dependent conformal maps are used to model a class of growth phenomena limited by coupled non-Laplacian transport processes, such as nonlinear diffusion, advection, and electromigration. Both continuous and stochastic dynamics are described by generalizing conformal-mapping techniques for viscous fingering and diffusion-limited aggregation, respectively. The theory is applied to simulation...

Modified particle swarm optimization algorithm to solve location problems on urban transportation networks (Case study: Locating traffic police kiosks)

Nowadays, traffic congestion is a big problem in metropolises all around the world. Traffic problems rise with the rise of population and slow growth of urban transportation systems. Car accidents or population concentration in particular places due to urban events can cause traffic congestions. Such traffic problems require the direct involvement of the traffic police, and it is urgent for the...

Two-species annihilation with drift: A model with continuous concentration-decay exponents.

We propose a model for diffusion-limited annihilation of two species, A+ B → A or B, where the motion of the particles is subject to a drift. For equal initial concentrations of the two species, the density follows a power-law decay for large times. However, the decay exponent varies continuously as a function of the probability of which particle, the hopping one or the target, survives in the ...

Diffusion-limited rates on low-dimensional manifolds with extreme aspect ratios

We consider a single-species diffusion-limited annihilation reaction 2A → ∅ with reactants confined to a two-dimensional surface with one arbitrarily large dimension and the other comparable in size to interparticle distances. This situation could describe reactants which undergo both longitudinal and transverse diffusion on long filamentous molecules (such as microtubules), or molecules that u...

Diffusion-limited reaction kinetics becomes anomalous not only for fractals, with their anomalous diffusion, but also for low-dimensional (one and two) and disperse media, where the random walk is compact. W...
